High Definition Encoder - ASI Output High Definition Encoder - ASI Output

HDE-ASI (HD Encoder-SDI) accepts & auto-detects input streams in HD-SDI, SD-SDI, and analog NTSC formats, and delivers one HD/SD MPEG-2 encoded output in ASI format. Additionally, a multi-channel output in DVI format is available for preview and testing purposes. The standard audio program of the digital inputs is encoded in Dolby AC-3 format. Optional Dolby 5.1 is available. Remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web browser.

MPEG-2 HD Encoder MPEG-2 HD Encoder

HDE-2H/2S-QAM (MPEG-2 HD Encoder – 2xHDMI/2xHD-SDI/4xComponent – 4xQAM) accepts up to four (4) high-definition (HD) programs from any of the following inputs: 2xHDMI (unencrypted), 2xHD-SDI, and 4xComponent. MPEG-2 encoded outputs are available in the following formats simultaneously: 4xQAM, 4xGigE (1000Base-T Ethernet), and 4xASI. To improve transport efficiency, the encoder allows operator to (i) assign one (1) or two (2) programs to each QAM output channel, and (ii) to individually turn on/off each of the four (4) adjacent QAM output channels. The encoder supports Dolby® Digital audio encoding, and Closed Captioning (EIA-608 and EIA-708). It is also equipped with an Emergency Alert System (EAS) interface. A front-panel RF test point allows for monitoring/testing of the QAM output without service interruption. Comprehensive remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web browser via a front-panel 10/100Base-T Ethernet connection.

    The encoder digitizes, MPEG-2 encodes each input into a high-definition stream, multiplexes the resulting eight streams, and then modulates them onto four adjacent QAM channels in the 54-1002 MHz range (CATV 2-158). Any one of the four QAM outputs is also available in ASI format.

    The encoder supports Dolby® Digital audio encoding, and Closed Captioning (EIA-608) for each of the eight encoded programs. It is also equipped with an Emergency Alert System (EAS) interface consisting of a composite video and L/R audio program input. EAS triggering is via a 5-12 VDC input or dry contact closure available from most EAS receivers.     HDE-2S-IP (MPEG-2 HD/SD Encoder Multiplexer - 2xHD-SDI or 8xSD-SDI/NTSC to IP/2xASI) accepts two (2) high definition (HD) programs from HD-SDI inputs or up to eight (8) standard definition (SD) programs across the SDI and/or NTSC inputs. MPEG-2 encoded outputs are multiplexed into one Multi Program Transport Stream (MPTS), which is available in the following formats simultaneously: 1xIP (100/1000 BaseT) and 2xASI. The encoder supports Dolby® Digital audio encoding for (16) analog stereo audio pairs (L+R) which in addition to primary and secondary audio programs also provide a third pair for the Audio Descriptor Service, an additional narration track for blind and visually impaired, as mandated by the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA). Ad insertion SCTE 35 compliant queuing messages are detected for each program from either the multiple audio Cue Tone inputs or an insertion contact closure (operator selectable). A baseband audio analog encoding capability table is provided on the following page for easy reference. In addition to the baseband audio analog encoding capability audio programs that are already encoded and present on the SDI inputs may be multiplexed with the respective output (pass-through) without utilizing the baseband audio analog encoding resource. The encoder also supports Closed Captioning (EIA-608, and EIA-708), and Emergency Alert System (EAS). A front-panel DVI port is available for real-time monitoring of active programs during operation. Comprehensive remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web browser via a rear-panel SFP port (10/100BaseT).

    HDE-HVC-PRO (Professional Series MPEG-2 HD/SD Encoder) is especially designed to deliver superior motion optimization for programming such as fast-paced live sporting events and is configurable in either HD or SD mode via its web interface.

    When operating in HD Mode, the encoder accepts one (1) program from any one of the following inputs: 1xHDMI (unencrypted), 1xVGA or 1xComponent. In SD Mode the encoder accepts up to four (4) standard-definition (SD) input programs in NTSC baseband Audio/Video format. Each AV input program is digitized, MPEG-2 encoded, and then multiplexed into one Multi-Program Transport Stream (MPTS).     Media Player & HD Encoder Media Player & HD Encoder

    The MPHDE-50 is a network media player and a versatile single channel encoder combined in a 1RU assembly. It consists of a Drake model DNP-50 Android-based player coupled with a Blonder Tongue model HDE-CSV-QAM HD MPEG-2 encoder. The HDMI connection between the media player and the encoder is provided and both units are powered by a single 12 VDC power supply integrated in the chassis. 120 VAC line powering is a standard and -48 VDC power is optional. The media player’s two USB ports are provided on the front panel and its 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port is presented on the rear panel.

It is also equipped with an Emergency Alert System (EAS) interface consisting of a composite video and L/R audio program input.     The encoder accepts eight analog programs from DIRECTV Network’s H25-100 satellite receivers. In the event of a failure on any one of the primary eight receivers, the HDE-8C-QAM w/Opt 2 will automatically switch over to the spare receiver to maintain the program stream. Remote monitoring and control of up to nine DIRECTV Network’s H25-100 satellite receivers is provided through UPnP protocol using a standard Web browser via a rear-panel 10/100Base-T Ethernet connection.

    The HDE-1C-QAM (MPEG-2 HD Encoder – 1xComponent/Composite – 1xQAM) accepts one (1) high-definition (HD) program from a component input or (1) standard definition (SD) from a composite video input. MPEG-2 encoded outputs are available in QAM (1x) format. The QAM RF output is frequency agile over the entire CATV frequency range of 5-1002 MHz (channels T7-T14, 2-158) with an output level of +40 dBmV. The encoder also has a Delayed Audio output feature to provide proper lip-syncing when external audio amplifiers are used in the system.

    The encoder supports Dolby® Digital audio encoding and Closed Captioning (EIA-608). Comprehensive remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web browser via a front-panel 100/1000 Ethernet connection.
